You can buy a dongle for your computer which will enable it to connect to a Bluetooth device. I had one for my old desktop several years ago.
This one fron EBuyer is compatible with Windows XP:

Many are not compatible with anything before Vista, so be careful when buying.
Even cheaper here from Amazon:

I don't know of any phone that won't connect to your pc by USB. Which phone are you thinking of buying?

Hi, thanks for your replies, I need one with a camera so Argos has a mobiwire pictor payg or a vodaphone alctel one touch
Poppy....I have used Mobile phones for over 20 years and have never seen the need to connect them with PC, by Bluetooth or any other method.
One can use a cable as an alternative.
Mikey - either you don't take photos on your mobile phone (like me) or you're one of those foolish people who don't back-up their photos to their computer and then complain when things go wrong with their phone.
The photos I take on my phone back up automatically to the cloud - and I can download them to my pc.

But be assured that if you do want to transfer them by USB cable you will be able to do so with both of those phones.
>>>or you're one of those foolish people who don't back-up their photos to their computer

If you set up your phone correctly (like say in Android) your photos are backed automatically to Google Photos so you don't need to do anything. Log on to Google Photos on your PC, using the same email address as you do on your phone, and all your photos should be there. If not just change the settings on the Photos app on your phone to backup automatically.

I assume Apple phones have a similar setup.
Guilbert, the phones poppysix are looking aren't smartphones.
