W 10 Upgrade

Has anyone run the latest W 10 upgrade? I forced it through tonight, took about an hour and a half all told. The original upgrade was quicker. But hells teeth this looks good. Fast and responsive. If you know how just do it. Well happy now for the lappie.

I believe this Windows 10 upgrade, the Creators Update, is due to be released tomorrow. Tuesday 11th April.

Because it is Windows 10 then everyone on Windows 10 Home will get it automatically, so no need to do anything.

It is a complete replacement of Windows 10 so will take a long time to download and install.

Just ran it Guilbert. I had a message asking if I would run it and set it off. I ran the original W10 upgrade on the first day and use outlook. Do not hesitate. Honestly.If you are metered or data capped beware... It is a big download.

AHH, will have a look at that tomorrow. I mentioned that the ads had disappeared without the unmentionable, but whilst scrolling through AB categories a little message flashed up telling me that defender is blocking Adobe flash, accompanied by a little jigsaw puzzle icon right next to the star icon for favs,(bookmarks) with an option to turn it on. More to get my head around. Lol.

Given Microsoft’s recent history, chances are good there will be bugs so thanks but I will leave it to others to de bug the latest offering from Microsoft

That is the one Geezer. I have sorted my laptop this morning and have no qualms. It is fashionable to *** off Microsoft but what is the alternative? All the people who insist it is crap ought to get a mac or a Russian or Chinese operating system. You can set your pc up to switch off most of the data collection and is the first thing to do if yo force the upgrade. It is a big download. Last night I did the desktop whilst online and with other devices on line and it took 1&1/2 hours. This morning I turned everything else off and did the whole shooting match in just under an hour.

Lol Ed. The ads are back, I have reset my feedback settings and let Adobe flash run. Can't be bothered to be turning it off and on every time I want to log on and surf. Very fast.

I might upgrade to W10 now. You can still get it free if you use 'assistive technology' such as a screen magnifier , but they can't check if you actually do use it.

Bit of help please just upgraded w 10 can't find anywhere on display options where to change the size of fonts ie:very small letters now on icons on home page I need to make the fonts bigger?

Three dots . . . top right of page, left click and Zoom is there.

It seems with the new upgrade the font facilities have been taken off by Microsoft I've managed to get around it by going to display settings scale and layout and customised the font settings to the size I want ...when as you said use the zoom it was to big now got it how I want it lol

For those of us without unlimited data, large fixes are a pain in the allocation. And if one has to try to prevent MS data grabbing afterwards too, ... :-(
