you can subscribe to a threas if it interests you. You get an email if you want to be told of replies on the relevant thread. Below Latest Posts is a list of your subscribed threads so they can be accessed by one click

f-f has explained what happens if you click 'Subscribe' in a thread.

However, if you wish to be notified at all times of answers to your own questions, then you need to ensure that the the box is ticked in you Profile (Subscribe to all my own questions ).
