My wireless mouse has stopped working and despite me trying all the suggested fixes that are suggested online it still isn't working. Is it just best to throw it out and get new one ? Many Thanks.

If so, and it's dead on that machine too, then (unless you've simply not got fresh batteries properly installed) it's time to ditch it. Otherwise you need to investigate further.
Most people who use a wireless mouse (and/or keyboard) probably don't actually need the wireless facility anyway. I'm perfectly happy using a wired mouse.

Any buttons on the transmitter or mouse to press to get them to find each other ? Have you tried turning the PC off then on again ? Have you deleted the mouse from the control panel and let the PC find it again ? Mouse driver not corrupted and needing reinstall ?
Wouldn't change my wireless trackball for a corded mouse except in an emergency.
