Norton Banners
12 Answers
After a recent update by W 10, right at the end of the Start procedure. a msg appeared saying that W Security was turned off and did I want it turned on. Y/N.
As Norton is installed and working I clicked No.
Does this have anything to do with Google results no longer carrying the green Norton checked banner?

Oh you mean some kind of website approval mark, not advertising banners. Can only suggest you look at the Norton settings. Check website protection is on.

The conflict is between Norton and W Defender. If you are prepared to run Norton, Defender has to be off. Got rid of Norton 4 years ago. Best thing I ever did. Slows down the whole system and plagues you to death with pop ups and spurious warnings. Defender is perfectly adequate for ordinary, sensible web usage. If you get hacked through tenuous links to Norton, you will no doubt blame Windows.
