How To Find A Lost Phone

My friend has lost her phone. She swapped her SIM etc to her new phone, and the old one now has a new number. This is the one she lost. Obviously her iCloud account is now connected to her new phone rather than the lost one. Is it lost forever or is there any way she can get it back?

If you know the new number call it and see if anyone answers.
Otherwise I don't think she has much hope of getting it back.

If she didn't deactivate her settings on the old phone, she could try the Find My Iphone option a no harm in trying.
