Answering Machine
12 Answers
With my old phone's answering machine, when somebody was leaving a message if you picked up the phone you could speak to the person calling. With my current one (a Binatone, which otherwise works well) you can't do that, which is very frustrating if it's something important. Is it likely that there will be a setting I can change so I can 'break into' a message and speak to the caller? I probably have the instruction leaflet that came with the phone, but no idea where I've put it!

What's the model number? It's probably on the base.

Found it!
Having spent ages going through everything in my desk and elsewhere, have at last found the instruction leaflet. It then took me quite a while to find: "When a person is leaving a message, if you want to pick up the call you can press (on the handset) and the message recording stops automatically." I assume that's the answer, but will have to wait till the next time I want to 'break in' to a message. Hope this is of help to others.
