Wireless Access Points

A few months ago, I bought a Belkin Wireless Access Point as I already have a wired network and wanted to make my WiFi laptop wireless... I think it was a 802.11d, but the signal didn't travel well in my house (which is big thick granite blocks!) ... now the same company makes a 802.11g version - would this improve the signal quality???

I thought that the standards were 802.11a / b / and g. (802.11n is due to be sorted out and this will be better than all of the others - allegedly!)

802.11g is better than 802.11a and faster than 802.11b but b seems to have a better range indoors.

The current Computeractive magazine has an intereting article on wireless connections. Might be worth buying and reading before you invest.
