Yesterday I received my new BT hub and 'disc'. Got it all set up.
When I check http://192.168.1.254/basic_-_my_devices.htm it shows that my ipad and the 'disc' are connected to 5ghz and everything else is to 2.4ghz. I cannot find any way to swap my ipad out for the main iMac computer so that the iMac is connected to 5ghz, which my DH needs for his work etc......
Under the old style BT site you could easily do this? Any ideas please? The BT help page does not help with this!
TIA

Unsure why you should care, if using a WiFi connection either should be fine, although the 5 GHz will have a shorter range.

Try turning off the iPad, and seeing if you can reconnect the computer using the 5GHz.

Thanks Buenchico - I followed this and looked promising until "To make this change click on Advanced Settings, Wireless. Click the Separate bands switch and you'll be able to name"..... and my screen does not look the same as the screen grab in his pic - there is no Separate Bands switch at the top and also under the blue 5ghz column I only have one field 'smart' and I don't have the second line showing the 'network name' in both columns as per the pic.....
I'm lost then. Sorry!

Your best chance of finding a solution to your problem is to contact BT. That's probably easier said than done though as their definition of 'a communications company' appears to be 'a company that it's impossible to communicate with'. If you try phoning you'll probably be going around in circles for hours!

The online chat system might be worth trying though. You can find it in the bottom left-hand corner of this page:
https://www.bt.com/help/home/#/

Alternatively, you could repost your question on the BT Community pages.

Good luck! (You'll probably need it with BT!)
BTW with BT. More than pleased with the service and product. Reliable, does what it says on the tin, and unless you are particularly awkward with them, more than willing to help and advise.

I'll second Togo ^^^ on that one, been with them for years, only ever had one problem and that was sorted the same day.
^ Agreed. Just switched my mobile from EE to BT today. Very easy to deal with.

My new Bt hub6 wifi code begins with SXR5, click & add code to connect. No disc in my box.
