Help, What Can I Do?
12 Answers
In my failed attempts to recover my Firefox ad blocker, I deleted Firefox from my computer so as to reinstall it.
I now find that I reinstall it because it says that Firefox no longer supports my XP operating system.
Is there anything I can now do apart from scrapping my computer?

The official advice from Mozilla used to be to install v43.0.1, so I'll assume that still holds true. I'll also assume that you're using a 32-bit operating system. If so, here's the file you need:
https:/ /ftp.mo zilla.o rg/pub/ firefox /releas es/43.0 .1/win3 2/en-GB /Firefo x%20Set up%2043 .0.1.ex e
It might be time to bite the bullet and replace your PC though. I can personally recommend this seller of refurbished models:

Sorry I`m a bit late. Comodo IceDragon is based on Firefox but has less of its problems and better security etc.
It works on XP through to 8.1 32 or 64 bit so might be worth a shufti as it is still receiving updates;

I`ve been using it since Firefox uninstalled itself from my Win 7 last year and find it works well.
Two days ago it blocked Adbloc and Ubloc though so you might have to find another ad-blocker.

Vintager:
A problem at Mozilla's end resulted in all extensions in use (with both Firefox itself and with forked versions, such as IceDragon and Tor) becoming disabled:

Now that the problem has been fixed, all extensions should automatically have been re-enabled in Firefox, but not necessarily in forked programs. If you've got disabled extensions in IceDragon, uninstall them, close IceDragon, restart your computer (possibly not necessary but often best done anyway), open IceDragon and reinstall the extensions.
