Has anyone actually seen a real financial benefit (or any other benefit) after having a Smart Meter fitted?

I'm smart enough to read my own meters (once a quarter) and to know that when anything is turned "on"....it uses power.

You could always put the display in the garage.
Not really a financial benefit though. Swapping monitoring/control/security for convenience.
