I am trying to get hold of BT to discuss renewal of my broadband contract.

Their on-line chat service is disabled, and 150 rings out for over twenty minutes before even my considerable patience is exhausted.

Anyone have any ideas how I can get them to communicate?

Tried that - got a response from BT Retail - telling me to ring 150!!!
Email telling them you want to cancel, they will soon get in touch ☺☺
Just tell them 150 not responding and ask how much notice you need to give to cancel

SlackAlice - If I could find a relavent e-mail address, I would do just that.

I know how to push their buttons (pun intended!) - I worked for them for forty-three years!!!
Try ringing them out of office hours. I had the same problem with British Gas. When I did eventually get an answer, the person at the other end recommended that, next time, I ring out of normal office hours.
I had to do this last week - I'd tried on & off all day for a couple of days, finally got through (on 150) to a brilliantly helpful chap at about 6:15 pm on Thurs.

He mentioned that it was *probably* (no guarantees, obviously) better to call in the evening. Just keep trying, Andy.

Thanks Tilly - that's the e-mail that wrote back and told me they were Retail and not connected to Customer Service systems, and to ring 150!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That is probably why BT didn't phone yesterday evening, as promised re switching to them. We have only just got fibre!

APC - To be fair, BT Call Centres have a rolling 25 per cent sick record when things are normal, it is such a horrible place to work - I imagine with the option of 'self-isolating', the whole lot are at home!!!
It must be the ultimate irony that an Internet Service Provider cannot be contacted via the internet.
All call centres are horrible places to work, Andy. I am always kind to call centre staff. Been there, read the book seen the film and..............
