Still Receiving W7 Updates.

This month, I have received 7 updates for Windows 7. Since MS "withdrew support for W7", I have received approximately 180 updates, one of which failed to install. It was an Intel Graphics update. Why are MS still sending out these updates? Has anyone else had them?

No all I get are messages saying support is ending and suggesting I update so Windows 10, an operating system I don't like. Don't know what I will do in the end.

Thanks BHG. I understand that, but if support has been withdrawn, why am I still getting security updates?

TonyV, I'm still using my pc with W7 for virtually everything except internet banking. I use Mrs Clarions' laptop for that. Chris (Buenchico) has assured all users that it is safe to do so. I trust him. I'll try and find the thread for that. BRB.!

It's answered in that previous thread, 10C - they're Microsoft Essentials updates which are not the same as Operating System updates.

With regard to the failed update install the Intel Driver and support assistant it checks your system and updates anything thats not current.

I've always had my W7 updates set to let me know when there's something ready to download, rather than to download automatically. With the final few updates, I tried to install them several times but repeatedly got failures. (I tried all of the suggestions online for dealing with such problems but to no avail).

Now I simply ignore the repeated prompts to update and I suggest that you do the same. (The vast majority of Windows updates relate to things that the average home user never uses anyway).

If the updates are trying to download automatically, I suggest going into your update settings and disabling all updates. If you're concerned that your Intel graphics driver might not be up to date, you can get any available updates directly from Intel:
