Hardly technology, but...

Our old steam cleaner is big, cumbersome, long hosepipe which doesn't detach, really awkward to use and store.

Are there any on the market now that are easier? (Not quite a handheld Dyson, but close would be nice...)

Thanks Chris, as ever. Useful articles - the upright Karcher looks far more useable than our old machine.

Be careful with steam cleaners. Personally, I let the professionals deal with it :) I stopped doing the cleaning in my house a while ago. My friends seemed so much more relaxed when they started hiring https://crowncleaners.org.uk/carpet-cleaning . I felt overwhelmed with all the tasks I had to do. The cleaning would just add to the stress. Now I truly feel like I have time for all the things I enjoy. My job is pretty stressful too so this decision of hiring cleaners really helped me. I suggest this to every busy, working person out there, who barely has time to enjoy the simple stuff.
