I have an iphone 7 and haven't been able to do a software update for a while because it says that I don't have enough storage. I have already deleted as much as I want to off the phone. I have tried to install the update by attaching it to itunes via my laptop but (after about 2.5 hours) it says that Error 4000 occurred. I am using the most up to date itunes on my laptop.
So my question is - do I need to do a software update on the iphone 7 before changing to the 12?
Thanks.
You don’t need iTunes tho to manage your phone. I lost count if the number of hours I wasted updating to the latest version of the wretched thing.
iOS updates should be straightforward enough these days. Updating ones laptop sounds like a nightmare to be avoided
Thanks for that link Zacs-Master. I saw those suggestions elsewhere online before I posted here and think none of those 4 issues apply to me.
ichkeria - so I definitely don't need to do a software update first?
I have used 30GB of the 32GB storage. I pay 79p per month for some storage.
No you don’t need to do an update.
When you get a new phone you will restore from your backup but the new phone uses the latest iOS version by default.
For now though can’t you do over the air updates via iCloud? From settings?
