cannot get connected to internet

Since i downloaded a free smiley programme from the net yesterday and once i had downloaded it i decided to uninstall it. Now i cannot connect to the interest using my own account and am using another users to access the interest. What have i done.

I think that ABers will need a few more details before being able to answer your question (but see below). It would help to know the following:
1. Which operating system are you using? (e.g. Windows ME or XP?).
2. Are you using dial-up or broadband?
3. When you say that you can connect via another user's account, does this mean that your own PC will connect using the other account details or do you have to use the other person's PC?.

Having asked those questions, however, there is one thing which you can try anyway: System Restore. If you simply restore your PC to a date before the suspect download, it's quite likely that the problem might disappear without having to ascertain its exact cause.

Hi Chris, xp, dial up and i am usingmy own pc with through another account. Where do i find system restore and will i lose all my photos and docs etc please.
Chris u are wondergul. I did looked for the info on system restore and now everything is fine, Thank you so much. I will be asking u a question about an infrared device i have got as i ma not sure how to use it and wherher this made my system go bad. once again thanks
for system restore go to START-ALL_PROGAMMES-ACCESORIES-SYSTEM_TOOLS and it's there
