skype problem....

Hi there. Maybe someone could help me. I have downloaded Skype so I can chat to friends but when I do the test call, I can't get playback on my voice. I then followed the instructions & went onto 'sounds,speech & audio devices' in the control panel & found the audio section tab & clicked on it. The skype instructions then say that in the 'sound playback section' from the dropdown menu select the device that skype uses which I assume is soundmaxdigitalaudio but my setting shows realtekHDAudiorearoutput & this is the only option on the dropdown menu. So, I'm stuck & hoping someone out there can help. Any ideas how I can get this working - please help me!!! thank you

Oooo, I meant to say my operating system is Windows XP & I have a broadband connection
