Strange Thing Happened With Laptops

Mr BD are both on our laptops while we watch the T20 cricket. I'm dipping in and out of AB and he's on Facebook on his. I just googled a make of car on mine, had a quick look at them and then came out of the site but said out loud "Oh well I'll just have to wait until I can afford a Maserati". I was not looking at Maseratis by the way. He immediately asked me if I had been looking at Jeeps. which I had, as adverts for Jeeps had suddenly popped up his Facebook site. I don't understand how that happens but worse than that he is now getting adverts for Maseratis. How the heck does that happen when I've not even googled them only said it out loud.

Peter I am the least technical person you could meet so I do have Alexa or anything akin to it, I don't have photos or music on my laptop. Just used for internet banking, AB, some shopping and putting lottery on. I don't even have or want a smartphone.

Like I said I am not technically minded. What microphones? I don't even have the sound switched on unless I occasionally listen to one of Mamya's late night offerings and switch it off when I have finished and before I log out for the night.

I am glad I popped into this thread, it was only a couple of weeks ago I was complaining about the same thing. I was blaming Alexa Dot, but that is up in the bedroom and couldn't understand how it was picking my voice up from the lounge. Now disabled my microphone. Thanks.
