Samsung Galaxy A12 Screen When On A Call.

Hello, on my old phone (none Samsung) when I dialled a number and it asks you to press 1 for this one for that, I'd move my phone flat or down and the screen lit up so I could see keypad etc and press the number, but on my Samsung a12 the screen stays off and I have to press the on switch for the screen to light up, does anyone know if / where there is an option on the phone to do the same as my old phone, many thanks.

I only bought my Galaxy A12 yesterday and I've not even turned it on yet. So I'm definitely no expert here!

However, if such a facility exists, I assume that it would be under Display > Screen Time Out. (See page 77 of the manual. I assume that you've already downloaded it but, in case not, here's the link: https://tinyurl.com/y87ffza5 ).

I've had no luck at all with my problem with the phone, still having the same issue, have looked everywhere :(
