Looking For Some Indoor Camera You Can View From Phone
9 Answers
I've got a 78 year old father who is easily confused and can not get up on his own if he falls. I've been looking into some indoor cameras to check up on him when I go out. I'm abit of a noob when it comes to understanding watching a camera feed from my phone. Can anyone recommend something. I was gonna get this one but I'm afraid I might be getting the wrong thing. https:/ /www.eb ay.com/ itm/224 9301037 67?epid =150048 48326&a mp;hash =item34 5ee101d 7&_ trkparm s=ispr% 3D1& ;amdata =enc%3A AQAGAAA A8O5QaH 5dY50fg aZGswvt CH9LG6j RQBbVvx BvwOjKm 1%252Fr frVmDvx eJ00Dna pLNtzqh MllaA0E FESVS1% 252FOVh FFhFDEA 9sOyc3a t7CziZT ObJXK7Y wdwd7Qx xDulHrP DJg9G%2 52BCy2w 3y1%252 FG6CMFU eM8qlCY lhpQ7ow 8OrHWw2 6p9TSGd %252BUg KZ3bdOn 392QLWd aTB7ZUs dFJmC9a x0mrYOB PQ6Zhwi L0NUJhz YxXpbYH richXSn %252FqT hjis1KJ 7prAu%2 52Br9l5 IKxOVk0 K%252FB QaYykmO JnDZ%25 2FyRTUT 5Ju2OP4 JS%252B bguJGe8 pl%252F d%252B9 Csgb85r Zq0UtDw %253D%2 53D%7Ca mpid%3A PL_CLK

The camera in your eBay link is only designed to feed a signal to a video recorder, not into the internet for access via a smartphone. Any camera that sends its output to a smartphone needs to initially get it to a router, so that it can become accessible remotely via a smartphone. You need something like this, if he isn't too confused to be able to use it.

If he cannot get up, he presses the button.
Better than cameras, because you can't watch all the time. You could be asleep when he falls.

Any camera that sends its output to a smartphone needs to initially get it to a router, so that it can become accessible remotely via a smartphone. So if there's no wi-fi router in your father's home, together with an internet subscription associated with it, you're wasting your time by trying to do the impossible.
Assuming that there's an internet connection in your father's home, this is what you need: https:/ /ring.c om/prod ucts/mi ni-indo or-secu rity-ca mera
[Note 1: You'll need a power adapter for each camera. Note 2: If you only want to be able to see what's going on in real time, you don't need to subscribe to 'Ring Protect'. However you will need Ring Protect if you require recording facilities].

Hopkirk, at 2308 is correct in that you cannot be watching screens 24hrs. a day. You need something like described in the link. Get the model with the "automatic fall detector" so that if your father is unconscious when he falls and cannot press a button or respond to the operators questions, they will still either get in touch with you or send assistance. Different companies have different plans, and of course, prices...Forget cameras.
