Apple Mac - 'bless' System folder

It's been so long since I've had to do this.. so can anyone refresh me on how 'bless' the System folder on a old beige G3 running OS8.1...

Not sure what you mean by Bless. Could you explain a bit more then I'll look it up in the Mac Bible for you.

AW thanks Wendy.. But I think I've got the answer now as I did cast my question far and wide. On an old Mac, the system folder has a little Mac face on it when it is live - 'blessed'. Sometimes it can mysteriously 'unbless' itself , i.e the face disappears from the folder icon and the Mac won't boot up. Some Mac gurus have prompted my decidedly ropey memory. I have to open and close the folder, or drag the System and Finder to the desktop and re-drag them back into the folder again to 'bless it'. Thanks for your trouble though. :)
Well you learn something every day. We have a PowerMac 6500 and I've just checked out the systems folder and low and behold it does have a little Mac face on it. Thanks for the info
