Update. At 11.39 I started a WhatsApp chat with Virgin. It ended 13.03 !!! After many questions and instructions to do tests on the Hub that I had already done several times, I was sent this
A traceroute will show the route through internet from the computer to the website.
Using a computer, perform a traceroute to the website which you are having difficulties accessing
Traceroute is a command which can show you the path a packet of information takes from your computer to one you specify. It will list all the routers it passes through until it reaches its destination, or fails to and is discarded. In addition to this, it will tell you how long each 'hop' from router to router takes.
Enter the word tracert, followed by a space, then the domain name. You can use the URL of a website experiencing issues with, or try a known functioning site such as www.bbc.co.uk. For instance tracert www.bbc.co.uk as shown below

I explained I had no idea what this meant, I didn't understand it and asked why my connection couldn't just be returned to as it was on Thursday. ( I'm curious if any of you experts understand it and what use it would have been to me)
The next message was don't worry I'll refer it to our IT team to look at it and rectify it remotely.
Couldn't believe it, that could have been done an hour previously.
When asked if this was ok, I replied yes, if it actually happens. Should all be up and running in 72 hrs. We will see.
