Whenever i first save a document in Libre I'd like it to bring up the option of naming it the title or 1st line of the document itself.
i just had to click save, not type anything

ive used stuff in the past that has this function but it did it automatically, so I dont know if its a setting etc

Is there a way to make this happen in Libre office?

Thanks :)

when I first save something my desktop asks me where I want to save it and brings up a panel which not only lists possible destinations but also highlights the current name of the story (which, since I have yet to name it, is "Untitled 1" by default); the highlighting means I can change it.

This is Open Office not Libre Office but the procedure is provided by the computer rather than the document. Do you have something similar?

yes thats what mine does now, but i think it was probably in word, that used to name it for you, using the first line of text, and you could save it or change it
yes, I think Word did that for me, and Open Office doesn't, but it does give me the option to change it when I first save it. Sounds like Libre Office is the same. I know it's not automatic, but it only takes me seconds.
