Powerpoint Issues

I want to delete and re-install PP on my desktop, I think my package may have issues.
When I go to my Control Panel to remove the programe, it's not there.
If I simply install another version, will that over-write the existing programe, or will it cause horrendous issues?
If it's possible to simply over-install, can someone please reccomend a reliable PP package without issues, happy to pay if that's better.
Thanks.

AH The best advice I can give is get proper MS Office + One drive, annual subscription . I paid £46 last time for a year, absolute bargain. All my files are accessible from anywhere backed up on the cloud all simple to use. The "free" ones may not cost direct but they do cost in agro.

Thanks for the responses folks.
I have done some research, and it appears that there is a difference in the way my friend's software reads the files, compared to the way mine reads them, hence the discrepancy.
I will wing my laptop over to my friendly tekkie for a look, hopefully he can sort it out for me.
Technology!!!!
Bah, and indeed Pah!!!
