You don't say what operating system your pc uses but this could relate to spyware or a virus. Limewire is one of the best places to pick such things up from.

Boot your PC in safe mode. If you don't know how to do this then post back with your operating system. Do a complete virus scan with your Anti virus software in safe mode. Also download and install and run Ad-aware from here http://www.lavasoftusa.com/ its the free personal version you want. This will detect and remove any spyware on your system

So far as I know, the operating system is Windows XP - I should like your help to Boot in safe mode. Unfortunately, today, I have to travel five miles to another computer to write this and then return home so your patience will be appreciated. Although not at all technical, I have seen lots of BAD comments on this site regarding Limewire but kept getting assured that `just everyone` uses it.
This site will show you how to boot in safe mode if your PC won't start in normal mode http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid /2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam
Also when you start your PC in safe mode click on "Start" on the taskbar then "Run" and in the box that says open type this "msconfig" without the quotes, then click on OK. A box will appear called "System Configuration Utility" Click on the tab at the top that says "Startup" This will show all the programs that run when you Boot your PC. Have a look down the list to see if you can see anything that looks like PslmSvs. If you find something make sure the box next to it is unticked. This will stop the program from running when you boot you PC in normal mode.
