my  key  board   used  to  light  up   now  it  does  not  hp  laptop   chrome

get a new one? Things are not made to last nowadays.

Have you tried unplugging it and re-installing?

Something to do with F9 key. I typed Illuminated HP keyboard and a few sites came up with 'how to turn the light on and off' Since AB gave way to stupid e-mojis I cannot,now ,post links.

Along the top row of your keyboard are th Function keys. On my HP laptop the one labelled f11 has a picture of a keyboard on it. Hold the fn key and press the appropriate function key; each time you press it the keyboard illumination will step through a cycle - off/dim/bright them back to off etc. Stop when you get to th one that suits you.

It's F6 on my keyboard

It's F10 on my keyboard (Dell).

I press it once and it lights up .... another press of F10 and it lights up even brighter .... another press of F10 turns it off.

I never had this on my previous laptop, but I wouldn't manage without it now  :)
