Which is the best digital camera to buy for under �200? Must have fast start-up and good battery life.

I have chosen the Pentax Optio S. �179, a decent zoom and an excellent long life battery. It is small and very practical. Very good value for money.

I've got a Fuji FinePix E500 (�149), but I suppose as its ayear old theres a newer model (!), but I've had no problems and great pics (its 4 Mega pixels).

Check out the Casio Exilim EXZ55 - you can pick one up for around �190.

It has the fast startup and long battery life that you are looking for plus a large l.c.d. screen and a very useful "best shot" option.

I've had mine for about five months now and I am delighted with it.
