CDDB for MP3 downloading

I've just got a new MP3 player. I'm trying to get info for the CD's I'm ripping onto my laptop but an error message says cannot find cddb server. does anyone know how i can alleviate this problem and save me hours on end typing in artists/tracklistings/genres into the pc?

What program are you using? You might need to go into the settings to make sure this cddb database is enabled to work.

The quickest solution might be to download "freeripmp3" and use it. As long as you're online when you're trying to connect to this "cddb server" you should be fine.

I'm using Gracenote as the CDDB provider which is used by my partner when the i-pod is attached and I'm on Microsoft XP.


I appear to have the settings enabled (i think) in the meantime I'll try the freeripmp3 site
