Outlook express

When I click Send/Receive on outlook a box comes up that says - Finding Host- This stays on untill an error message comes up and then the connection hangs up and I have to redial. Once redailed 9 times out of 10 the messages start pouring in. We can't switch to broadband because we live out in the wop wops (countryside) and the phone lines won't support it. Does anyone know what the problem may be? Thank you in advance?

well Mr wop wop, bye the way, i'm one too....open outlook express, tools, accounts,double click the acount in question, got to advanced tab and move the time-out slider to the right. this will increase the time before it decides it hasn't got a connection. whether or not that's the problem you'll have to see but i'd start there because some servers like BT tell you to increase the time-out considerably. good luck
