Hi all - How do i erase the history in outlook 2003? I mean when i write a new message in, when i type the email address it brings a list of recently used address. How can i delete these? Thanks. PM

first you have to "view hidden folders" in folder options..then explore to C, Docs and Settings, Administrator or whatever you are using currently, Application Data, Microsoft, Outlook...here you should find 2 office data Files. One is huge and contains everything, the other small and contains the stuff you want rid off. delete this file to the recycle bin and if it works great, if not you can restore it. I'm sure it will work though as I've done it before..let me know, will be interested

I was under the impression that it was impossible to delete the drop down email guessing thing without reinstalling Office. Not so as someone told me.


When you are writing the address for the new message and it comes up with the list, use the arrow keys to go down to highlight the one you want to delete, and press the delete button. Simple as that, but not obvious or well documented.
