If your current hard drive has a virus the damage is probably already done. Why are you concerned about a virus anyway ? you do use antivirus software dont you ? Just put em in and run a virus scan yourself. Total cost is approximately $0.00
You'd have to fit it to a computer somewhere to check for viruses, but as peanut mentioned, it won't do anything to your new computer even if it had a virus. Even the nasty ones only damage the data on the drive itself. Actually the CIH virus is an exception, but that only triggers on April 26 so you've got plenty of time to check for it.
If you really want to spend cash getting it checked, then any local computer shop should be able to do that, but considering most will charge 60/hour (in the UK) it'd be a lot cheaper just to make sure your anti-virus is upto date.
