Does anyone know what would couse my hdd activity light to remain on all the time ? even with all hard drives and cd rom drives completely disconnected. No its not plugged in backwards. thanx.

have you tried removing the the connector from the motherboard? May shed some light.. Are you having any other issues with the computer?

No other trouble at all. and yes i have disconnected and reconnected several times.

I tried replacing the hdd cable too and still on solid.

This is normally caused by attaching the HDD Led Activity Light wires the wrong way round on the motherboard System Panel Connectors. Have you tried reversing them. You will find usually that the writing on all the plugs will face the same way.
