Its probably your ISP disconecting you, some have a time limit, you can just dial up again and log on again probably
Many (probably most) ISPs automatically disconnect dial-up users after 2 hours. It seems that your ISP is slightly more generous in having a 3 hour limit.

If you want to avoid this, try an ISP such as Claranet which doesn't disconnect users after a fixed period of time.

Or, go for broadband. It's not that much more expensive than dial-up. Yet provides an infinitely superior web experience, and no disconnections.
Why does my Broadband connection disconnect me after 15 mins of non-usage? Wannadoo

For Kos....

Not sure why this is happening if you have broadband, but on the old dial-up i had this problem once. Try this:

Open Internet Explorer and click 'tools' > 'internet options', then click on the 'connections' tab, and select 'always dial my default connection' (but make sure you have the proper connection chosen. Then click on 'settings' and 'advanced'.Untick the disconnect if idle bit (it used to be set at 20 on my pc.

I haven't done this in years and hopefully this is right. I'm in work and cant check the connections we have here.
