I had the same problem with Norton in that it let something through and wouldn't solve it but I changed to AVG and have NEVER had a problem with that.
using the search tab at the bottom left of this page, type norton. and see just how many experts rate Norton as completly useless and unreliable.
Uninstall it from the add/remove programs. do a c:/ search for norton/symantec and delete those remaining files. then use AVG or Avast. Both are free and alot safer and reliable.
