Internet Connection

I have recently moved house. I have set up my computer and tried to access the internet last night via dial up and kept getting the message "Unable to establish a connection". Does anyone have any ideas why I have this problem?

Do I have to change my home telephone number or anything else on my computer to establish a connection via the new telephone line?

I think there's somewhere in your dial-up that has your home number stored. Can't check. Haven't got dial-up anymore. You may have to contact your ISP in order to change.

Do you allow people to do 1471 and find your number when you ring them or do you automatically withhold your number? If it is the latter you may need to put 141 before the isp number in your dialup settings in order that they can use C.L.I. to identify you.

The reason is that your dial up account is set up to work on the phone number that you used to have (this helps to stop hacking accounts)

You will need to contact your ISP to inform them that you have changed phone numbers
