Hi all,
My SONY Plasma (from Powerhouse)has just started to show a blue line down the right-hand side after a year and a half. Typical scenario, only took the 1 year guarantee, but Powerhouse telling us to go direct to SONY. Not happy about this, but can anyone advise? Ta.

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It's obviously a hardware fault which could only be solved by a replacement part (the screen itself). Given that the actual screen is the main and most expensive part then Sony (if it were in warranty) might decide to replace the whole TV.
If it's only just out of warranty, Sony might do something as a goodwill gesture - you never know!
Regardless of the guarantee that you got or purchased from the retailer, you have (had) a standard 12 month warranty from Sony. If you registered with Sony when you purchased it then the 12 months ran from the date of purchase you filled in on the card or entered on the website.
If you didn't register with Sony at the time of purchase then you can do so now on their website, before you phone them for support:

They might or might not ask for proof of the purchase date before organising a repair or replacement.
