Reinstall it. Disable any firewall to see if that is the problem.

It could be just that msn is having problems. some times from time to time i cant get a connection then if i leave it for a while it connects straight away.

You don't specify the problem very well, what exactly is happening when you try to connect? Have you used MSN before?
