does anyone know how i can fix this error 0x80040154 its stopping me from using my mic can anyone help?

this happened in the my computer --> control panel --> sounds --> voice --> voice set up. and just when i was about to start the voice test the error comes up as An error ocurred during DirectPlay Voice setup. The error code is 0x80150175 i think my friend renamed a dll for me so i could speak on counter-strike but i dont think its because of that
I have the same problem. This occurs when I run the 'Sound Hardware Test Wizard.'

Windows cannot execute DpvSetup.exe, use Add/Remove Programs control panel to install.

I'm having the same problem. When I run the hardware test in the voice tab of audio properties I get the directplay error 0x80040154 followed by the error message that windows could not execute DPVSETUP.EXE
My mic doesn't work because of this. Is there an error in the dll or what? I have dx9.0c, windows XP, an asus a7n8x2 mobo with onboard sound. I've had the same problem with the onboard ac97 sound disabled using a pci soundblaster live 5.1 as well.
