Broadband 8mb

I am signing up to bt broadband and i see they offer 8mb. Does anyone actually have broadband this fast. if not what is the fastest speed around?

I'm a BTuser who has been offered "up to 8MB " however according to BT's line check my maximum may be up to 4Mb
so check before you go for it...

With BT (or BT lines) it depends on how far away from the exchange you are. I'm not sure with cable, but I think if they say 8, you get 8.

Yeah like ZEN said i can only get 3.5mb. but i pay the same price as i would if i could get 8 mb. but my friend is with ntl and he gets 10 mb.

hi everyone my dad worked for bt and he says that your download speed is determined by anumber of things one of which is the distance to the bt exchange and the other being the line that connects you. alot of folk will find that those speeds are not achievable because bt have yet to update everything betweent you and the exchange so its not really worth forking out all that cash.
