My computer does not have a RJ45 slot

is it possible to add the slot i need for my ethernet cable to my pc. my comptuer doesnt have the slot i need. i am trying to install a wireless broadband router.

If your pc doesn't have an ethernet port, you can easily buy an ethernet cable or a network adapter.

are you sure ? if you had modem cable in before is it not the same place you put this one. i dont have that but when i did my sis-in-laws im sure it was the same place i put my modem cable....could be wrong !

Maviscoull. the modem cable socket looks very similar to the ethernet socket as is usually located next to each other but they are not the same.

Different ports... telephone is RJ11, Ethernet is RJ45.

Now... you can buy a NIC for a few quid but why are you looking to hard wire it if your installing a wireless router?
