Can anyone pls recommend a good, affordable scanner for use on a PC (windows xp)?

i`ve got the lexmark 2300 all-in-one and it is really good. think it was about �40 at asda a few months ago !

I find the Epson 3490 is the best scanner I've used. It will also scan slides and film, with it's separate holding device. Place a multi number of photos on it's glass and it will send them to your computer as separate pictures.
