What happens when you try that http address?

Unless you have set yours differently try the following:

1. ignore the username. Use 'admin' as the password.

2. Use your hotmail or msn email address as username, and 'admin' as password.

3. Connect to the router by ethernet, and try the links here:

Don't know if this is going to help, but I had a similar problem on a Belkin wireless router/modem.

Have a look if there's a factory reset button on the router body somewhere, press it and try it again. With luck, it may work.
try linksy's support
I've got a linksys wireless router and had similar problems when I was trying to set it up.

There is a 'restore factory settings' slot on mine where you have to jab a paperclip in for 10 seconds (until all the lights start flashing). I had to do this loads of times until I got the settings correct.

Also, I used a network cable from laptop to router to do the initial setup. If there was a network cable between pc and router I never had a problem seeing 192.168.1.1.
