My computer freezes after launching Windows 98. Please help it's driving me crazy

Does it boot OK in safe mode? Press F5 or F8 to find out. If no then reinstall the operating system. If yes then run msconfig (start-run-type msconfig then OK). In the last tab uncheck everything except systray (or system tray) and the startup registry scan. OK your way out then reboot. See if it stops freezing.
