Kodak DX3600 digital camera......
5 Answers
I've been offered the above - it has a 32mb campact flash card and is 2.2 mega pixels. The present owner is letting me have it for nothing. I know nothing about digital photography so is this a good camera and will the photos be OK? Any help at all will be very grateful.

The 2.2 mega pixel resolution will produce perfectly acceptable snaps, but will start to look a bit blocky if you want to enlarge any prints - for printing A4 size, you would comfortably want 4 mega pixels.
You may want to invest in a larger memory card. If you take pictures at the highest quality possible you will find a 32mb card probably holds 30 pictures or thereabouts.

If you know nothing about digital cameras then accept the offer of a free camera and learn by using it.
At some later date, once you know more, you can buy a better camera.
As others have said, 2.2 mp is fine for snaps, but will not be good if the picture is going to be enlarged either on a PC monitor or in print.
The memory card will only hold about 13 pictures so you are a bit stumped there, so you may need to buy a larger memory card.
Also it may have AA or AAA batteries so they will need replacing regularly, or you need to buy re-chargable.
If you do buy another camera then get one with a Lithium Ion battery like they have in video cameras.
Here is a review of the camera which seems generally favorable.
