How about using the Microsoft power toy TweakUI? Download it from here: http://www.annoyances.org/exec/show/tweakui Install it then use the "paranoia" settings to clear you internet explorer history on logon.
Have you tried clicking on the 'tools' tab on you're browser and going to 'internet options..' and clearing the history from there.
W98 and XP etc probably ME and 2000 as well; There's more to your history than the history log; There's also your index.dat(s) which store a record of all visted websites, they are superhidden that means not easily visible in Windows even with 'show all files' checked. Or dos unless you unset sys and hid attribs; the secret folder is hidden by a 'desktop.ini file in temporary internet files and called 'content.ie5' {folder can be viewed when you've drilled deep enough into temporary internet files by clicking in the address box at the very end of pathname; when you get the I-beam, type content.ie5 and click Go; you will now see about 4 more folders and index.dat; there's an occurence in each of your user accounts and another in Windows folder; you need something like 'sweeper' by emery [freeware] or to clear these files they can't easily be done manually. After all that, remember your Isp also have a copy of every site you visited which they must retain by law (ripa) for at least 6 months, Home Office ruling. - too much information? :-)
Windows Washer at http://www.webroot.com/wb/products/windowwasher/in
dex.php It's
very good...frees up loads of space and has a 'bleaching' option to permanantly remove stuff.
