Annoying symbol on Sony TV

For the last week our Sony TV has had an annoying blue AV2 (and that weird rectangle and arrow) in the top left corner. Does anyone know how to get rid of it? The manual doesn't have any details on this. It even appears when we watch something we have recorded on Sky Plus. Very irritating!

I would imagine that your remote has a button which has a square with a '+' in it.Press that and it should remove the on screen graphic.

Thought I'd pressed every single button on the remote (several times) but apparently not.
