i know this might sound stupid but i want to buy some dvds that are ntsc region 2-5 will these be compatible in a tele and dvd player in the uk

the uk is region 2. the majority of dvd players sold in the uk is both pal and ntsc compatable...so your answer is yes.

to clarify my last post. if you intend to play stuff in the uk, only region 2 is compatible.
