fo3nix. sorry about that, its power book g4, if its any help i just removed the power cable and it shut down soon after, this time it lasted about 30min
ah ok. I was thinking maybe it was a new macbook: many have had problems with this, and it requires a new logic board (Apple would pay).

has it always done this? does it work fine with the power cord in?
Question Author
fo3nix. no not with the cord in.do you think it could be the battery after all ? if it is have you any idea as ti the cost of a new one ? i,m going to new york soon, would it be cheaper there?
no idea what the cost is, but I'd think that it maybe the battery, yes. If it works fine with the cord in, then it sounds like it to me. And I guess it's at least a year old? Still not very good really, the battery should hopefully last longer than that.

And yes, the battery will definitely be cheaper in NY.

fo3nix. thanks for your help and advice.
Just checked at the Apple UK store and the US store. Assuming yours is the 15" alu model, the US store seems to be about 20 cheaper (70 instead of 90). I'm sure you could find it cheaper elsewhere though.
