I am remotely accessing my work PC from home,. However, the IP address on my PC has changed in the last week. How is this possible!?

We'd would need to know the configuration of your works network infrastructure to suggest anything.

Typically remote connections use dynamically assigned ip addresses so you may well get a different one each time you connect.

This means that you can have more connections than IP addresses because not everybody is online at the same time.

If you mean the pc at your work's ip address has changed, i go with the answer reffering to Dynamically assigned address's!

Yes, the work PC's IP address changed. How will i know if it has changed if I am not at work to check it?

You won't unfortunately.

if your work use like a wireless router you will see it changes more frequently around 3-6 days

Your IT department should be able to assign your machine a static IP, depending on company policy etc etc.

It is more likely that the NATing has been changed. An internally assigned DHCP address is very unlikely to be the 'real' internet address.

Thanks all! Very helpful - sounds like static IP is the way forward, as we are currently dynamic.
