An RJ-11 is just a standard phone line cable. It'll go from phone line to modem.

An RJ-45 is an ethernet cable, that comes either standard or crossover. It'll go from modem to computer. Is this what you mean? In which case, you'll need a standard cable, and not a crossover. Crossover cables are for computer to computer.

Having said all that, most switches in routers etc. and many computers have a sensing system that knows if you're using a crossover or standard RJ-45 cable, and will adjust as needed. You'll probably want the standard cat5e cable.
